Many conditions can be safely monitored over time, avoiding unnecessary interventions while ensuring close follow-up. Clear decisions are made when treatment or further investigation is required, including referral where necessary.
As physician licenced in Portugal (Ordem dos Medicos), prescriptions can be issued within the framework of the Portuguese SNS where appropriate. Referrals for further diagnostic investigations can also be arranged but have to be paid privately (some clinics provide rebate when the patient has a so called Numero do Utente).
