Pancha-Karma and Ayurveda Therapy Retreats: A Path to Inner Harmony (14 days)

Each from:
February 08th to February 21st
February 28th to March 13th
April 5th to April 18th

The Pancha-Karma Cleansing Retreat in Ayurveda transcends mere actions; it is a healing journey aimed at cleansing the body and rejuvenating the mind. The term “Pancha-Karma” derives from the five significant applications (pancha = five, karma = action, deed), utilized in conjunction with small preparatory measures (purva-karma). The goal is not only to cleanse the body but also to restore inner balance.

At the core of every classical Pancha-Karma Retreat lies the art of internal and external “oiling.” Ayurveda posits that toxins responsible for imbalances and various symptoms are often lipid soluble. Through targeted internal and external oiling, these toxins are mobilized, transported to the digestive tract, and eventually eliminated. The selection of the five primary treatments Vamana (therapuetic vomiting), Virecana (therapeutic purgation), Nasya (cleansing of upper airways with medicated oils), Vasti (enemas) and Rakta Mokshana (blood-letting) varies individually, based on factors such as age, constitution, and symptomatology. The 14-day Pancha-Karma Retreat offered by my experienced team and me provides a holistic experience with lasting effects.

For patients who, due to their compromised health condition, should not undergo Panchakarma treatment, we offer tailored Ayurvedic therapies specific to their respective medical conditions. These therapies are particularly recommended for patients with chronic musculoskeletal disorders (such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.), neuro-muscular conditions (such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.), chronic inflammatory bowel diseases or irritable bowel syndrome, as well as patients with eczema or psoriasis. Please consult with us regarding this matter. A separate consultation will be conducted.

Our Services Include:

  • Preparation at home: After a personalized telephone consultation, you undergo a tailored two-week preparation phase in the comfort of your home. This phase aims to fortify your digestive fire (agni) and lays the groundwork for an effective cleansing and rejuvenation process during the retreat, ensuring a sustainable and profound outcome.
  • Internal Oiling: Utilization of high-quality medicated Ghee (clarified butter) for profound cleansing.
  • In total 28 treatments
    • External Oiling: 10x classical Ayurvedic full-body oil massages (Abhyanga) with authentic Indian oils. 2x followed by a sweat therapy treatment in an authentic steam chamber (Swedana).
    • Main Treatments: Depending on the individual’s needs and the decision of the Ayurvedic doctor, the five main treatments are carried out, namely Vamana (therapeutic vomiting), Virechana (therapeutic purging), 5x Anu-Vasti (nourishing oil enemas), 2x Nirhua-Vasti (cleansing decoction enemas), 4x Nasya (cleansing nasal drops) with Anu Thailam (special nasal oil) and a 15-minute face massage.
    • Other Treatments (Purva Karma): e.g. Shiro-Dhara (forehead pouring), Shiro Abhyanga (Ayurvedic face massage), Patra Pinda Sweda (herbal bolus massage) and other special treatments such as Dhanyamla Dhara (whole body pouring with a special liquid) aimed at the targeted removal of Ama (toxins) and balancing Pitta in chronic inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Ayurvedic Pancha-Karma Meals: Ayurvedic lunch and dinner (the latter to go), tailored to your needs during the retreat.
  • Ayurvedic Medication: Supportive medication throughout the entire retreat

Additional treatments such as Netra Vasti (Ayurvedic eye bath), Karana Puruna (Ayurvedic ear bath), Bastis (oil baths for various body parts, e.g. knees, back, neck, heart area, etc.) can be booked additionally.

Patients with more severe chronic conditions who are not suitable for a Panchakarma treatment are offered an individualised therapy programme. The respective treatments and associated costs are determined in a detailed consultation beforhand.
