The Panchakarma Retreat is a traditional Ayurvedic cleansing treatment. It is an intensive therapeutic process designed to restore the balance of the doshas within the body and activate the body’s self-healing abilities. This is achieved by eliminating the excess (highly increased) doshas from the body system. The treatment consists of three phases, which are individually tailored to the needs of the participant.
These phases are:
Preparatory phase (Purvakarma)
The preparatory phase aims to stimulate the digestive fire (agni) (deepana) and break down toxins and metabolic waste in the body (ama) (ama-pachana). This is followed by the phase of internal and external oleation (snehana).
Sie erhalten:
- Online Consultation in Advance
- Preparatory medication as well as recommendations for diet and daily routine (ideally, start this 14 days in advance)
- For external oiling: Traditional Ayurvedic full-body oil massage (Abhyanga) with fine medicated oils from India
- For internal oiling: Medicated ghee, with the quantity adjusted according to the individual’s digestive strength. The ghee is made from organic butter and herbal blends.
Main treatments (Pradnhakarma)
During the main treatment phase, all or a selection of the Pancha Karma therapies are applied. These include:
- Therapeutic emesis (Vamana)
- Therapeutic purgation (Virechana)
- Therapeutic enemas (Basti)
- Therapeutic cleansing of the nasal and throat area (Nasya)
- Bloodletting (Rakta Mokshana)
After care (Paschchatkarma)
The main treatments can be quite demanding. Therefore, it is important to adjust diet and lifestyle accordingly. During the retreat, appropriate guidance is provided. A follow-up treatment with Ayurvedic medicines may also be recommended.
