A human being as a person is referred to as purusha in the Vedic and Ayurvedic traditions. Ayurveda recognizes infinitevly similarities in the purusha and the surrounding world, the universe, called loka. The universe, as well as humans, are composed of the 5 elements and are thus subject to the same laws. Brahman, the soul of the world finds itself in the human as Atman. Atman originates from Brahman and is at the same time part of it. Also, the different ages of the universe, called Yuga, find their equivalents in the human stages of life [Ca.Sh 5/5].
